Opy Health featured in the 2021 Exame ESG Guide
In the first year of operation, the Company has received recognition for its sustainable environmental, social, and corporate governance practices in the Brazilian healthcare sector
Since its foundation, Opy Health’s motto is to focus on the healthcare sector so it can offer effective healthcare services to patients. In operation for just over a year, it has already made remarkable achievements: the Company was one of the highlights featured in this year’s Exame ESG Guide in the Healthcare category.
Since the beginning of operations in March 2020, the Company has been investing in modern and technological healthcare infrastructure, providing better conditions to deliver compassionate, respectful, and comprehensive patient care, as well as creating a positive social impact for Brazilians.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the ESG agenda in the corporate world, as highly sustainable companies have been showing more resilience in handling setbacks like this major global health crisis. We have the opportunity to leverage the Brazilian healthcare sector and stimulate a disruptive process, challenging the status quo to promote sustainable development in an emerging market. Being recognized as a leading ESG company by Exame magazine is an important milestone for us. It shows we are on the right track to positively impact the access of Brazilians to a more dignified, transparent and effective healthcare system”, says Otávio Silveira, CEO of Opy Health.
The Company’s operating model was designed with an ESG (Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance) agenda in mind. It is intended to create long-term value to all stakeholders, being leveraged by sustainable growth based on business environmental and operational efficiency as a way to raise capital that is backed up by Opy Health’s excellent performance in the healthcare sector.
“It is an honor to be featured in the Guide along with other renowned companies that have solid ESG practices, it also encourages us, even more, to remain focused on building a more equitable and fair society, consolidating sustainable practices with all our employees, partners and communities”, says Júlia Loureiro, Compliance & ESG Manager at Opy Health.
The Guide also assessed Opy Health’s performance based on different environmental, social, and governance criteria considering its two concessionaires, ONM Health, operating at Hospital Metropolitano Dr. Célio de Castro, in the city of Belo Horizonte, and OZN Health, at Hospital Delphina Rinaldi Abdel Aziz, in the city of Manaus. The Guide highlighted some practices on the Company’s pro-climate agenda, such as using solar cells to generate electricity, LED lighting to save energy, and the heat generated by chillers during the chilled water production process to heat showers.
